› More awards for local cheese maker
It has been a good summer for a Lydeard St Lawrence based cheese maker. Having won the award for the best cream at the Bath and West show, Tower Farms Cheesemakers has scooped more awards for its farmhouse cheddar cheese and butter.
Prizes for the cheese include the best cheese in Somerset at the mid-Somerset show and a bronze medal at the prestigious British Cheese awards. To complete the collection, the butter won first prize at the Frome show.
Managing director Geoff White said “We are delighted with our recent awards. It’s testament to the quality of milk from our local Somerset farms and our hand made process allowing us to give every cheese we make the individual attention it needs. It has given us all at Tower Farms a real boost.” Posted on 01 Oct 2006
